Foreground-Middle Ground-Background: This is a photograph from the top of Steamboat showing the layers of snow in the foreground, the forest beside the run in the middleground, and the town of steamboat and landscape beyond stretching out in the background.
Photograph The Light: This photograph was taken near the Walmart in Evergreen right as the sun was setting through the saddle in the mountains. The clouds helped soften the light of the sun to help give it a glow that lit up the clouds around it.
Framing: I used one of the wooden barricades at Elk Meadow to frame Bergen Peak in the background and draw attention to it in the photograph.
Night: This picture was taken flying back from Nashville as we were approaching a line of Thunderstorms, and the sun had just set perfectly over the tall clouds, showing their silhouette.
Rule of 3rds: While the picture focuses on the rock and bush on the right-hand side, you are also able to see the full scope of Elk Meadow and the cool clouds above it stretching out on the left-hand side of the photo.
Non-Realist: The sun was centered over Bergen Peak so I decided to take it and copy it into an ark of many suns stretching
out on either side of the original sun at its lowest point.
